Career Goals
My career goals might be a little bit different from most students graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition. After graduation, I would like to take a year off and work out in the workforce. I would like to gain experience in whatever areas I can but specifically in community and patient healthcare. I plan to apply and attend an accredited Physician Assistant program. My interests and focuses of study are currently cardiothoracic surgery and neonatal childcare. After attending school for two years and figuring out which area I want to specialize in I will graduate with a Master’s Degree and begin working. I hope to one day have a family and by this time start to decrease the amount of weekly hours I am working. On the side, I would like to pick back up with my former nutrition education and be a member of several board groups. I have an interest in childhood nutrition and would love to be on the National School Lunch Program board as well as be an active member of several local community nutrition boards around my area. My career goals encompass the education I am receiving currently and they also include education in areas that I have yet to receive but will soon learn. Taking and using the best of both worlds is the perfect career for me. It enables me to maximize my community outreach and impact on healthcare.
